Rare Bauhaus side table in unusual design made of chrome-plated steel tubes and two shelves with wood painting. The maker / designer is unknown; the make, especially of the lower foot ends, is strongly reminiscent of John Hagemann’s designs for Thonet. Also in the current program of Thonet is a folding table with “angular” transition in the foot ends instead of the usual round bent tube. The chrome plating is in very good condition overall, with only one of the side crossbars showing signs of heavier corrosion (see photo). The wooden shelves show clear signs of use; the surface of the upper shelf is dull in the left area.
